Beanie Babies finally get their own biopic in The Beanie Bubble, which arrives in select theaters on July 21 before streaming on Apple TV the following week. But rather than a straightforward recounting of the events that led to a global plushie craze, the new movie jumps back and forth in time as it highlights the women who helped Ty Warner (The Hangover‘s Zach Galifianakis) build his empire. Even more fascinating is the fact that the women onscreen are fictional, though many of their stories are derived from the real women described in Zac Bissonnette’s book, The Great Beanie Baby Bubble.
