When Spider-Man: Homecoming takes place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline has officially been confirmed by Disney. Although the first Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland was released in July 2017, the film has not been part of Disney+’s collection of MCU content during the last few years. This is because Spider-Man: Homecoming was made by Sony with Marvel Studios’ help and the film’s streaming rights landed elsewhere. The film’s long-awaited arrival on Disney’s streaming service not only means there is a great opportunity for audiences to watch it, but it also means Spider-Man: Homecoming getting an official placement on the MCU timeline.
